A-PET-CARE dog & cat pregnancy test REQUIRES pet’s serum or plasma. The test DOES NOT work with whole blood.
This dog & cat pregnancy test REQUIRES blood centrifuge.

WHAT IS RELAXIN
Relaxin is a specific hormone generated mainly by the placenta. It is usually used as an indicator of pregnancy status in female dogs/cats. In pregnant pets, relaxin can be detected from 15 days after the nidation of fertilized egg in the uterus wall. The A PET CARE Pregnancy Relaxin Rapid Test is a rapid test to detect relaxin in pet’s blood. The suggested detection period is 20-30 days after mating. Too early detection may lead to a negative result when relaxin in serum is too low. It is suggested to repeat the test after 1 week if a negative result was observed.

HOW TO TEST YOUR DOG OR CAT FOR PREGNANCY (RELAXIN LEVELS) AT HOME:
Collect whole blood from the patient pet, centrifuge to separate serum from red cells, or place whole blood directly into the tube with anticoagulants to get plasma. Please note, our test kits do NOT include and blood collection equipment (syringes), as well as centrifuge.

After you have collected the sample, follow the included instructions. From the moment you obtain the sample, the test takes about 5-15 minutes to complete. The results are available at place in 10 min after the testing. This is an ‘at-home’ test, no need to send it out to the lab.

HOW DOES THE RAPID TEST KIT FOR RELAXIN WORK:
A-PET-CARE Dog / Cat Pregnancy Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFIA) for the detection of Relaxin in pet’s serum or plasma sample.

The testing cassette has a testing windows. Each testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When the pet’s sample is applied into the sample hole of the device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough Relaxin in the sample, a visible T line will appear in the corresponding testing window. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. This means, the device can accurate indicate the presence or absence of Relaxin in the dog’s or cat’s sample.

Results are ready in 5-10 minutes.
