REQUIRED SAMPLE
This test requires a cat’s serum, plasma, or whole blood sample.
You will need 1 drop of the specimen for each of the 2 test strips (2 drops in total).

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED
You will need syringes to collect the blood. The test kit does NOT include blood collection equipment.
The test can be performed with or without a centrifuge:
- If using whole blood, you will only need a syringe.
- If using serum or plasma, you will need a syringe and a centrifuge.
TEST INSTRUCTIONS
- Read the instructions carefully before starting the test.
- Collect a blood sample from the cat (syringes are NOT included). You can use whole blood directly as a sample. Alternatively, you can centrifuge whole blood to obtain plasma or place it in a tube with anticoagulants to obtain serum. Once the sample is ready, the FeLV/FIV test takes 10–20 minutes to complete.
- Prepare the test: Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place it on a flat surface.
- Add the sample to the test cassette: Use the enclosed narrow-tip 10-μL dropper to place 1 drop of the specimen into EACH of the two S (sample) windows on the test cassette.
- Add the buffer liquid: Using the enclosed wide-tip 40-μL dropper, immediately add 2 drops of the buffer liquid into EACH of the two S (sample) windows of the test cassette, over the blood sample.
- Wait 5–10 minutes and read the results.
TEST EXPIRATION DATE
The test is valid for 18 months or longer from the date of purchase.

HOW TO TEST YOUR CAT FOR FELV AND FIV AT HOME:
Checking your cat at home for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is very simple with our feline combo test for cats. First, collect your cat’s blood sample (syringes are NOT included in the test). Then you can either centrifuge the collected blood to separate serum from plasma, or use the whole blood as a testing sample. After you have obtained the sample, just follow the included instructions. From the moment you obtain the sample, the test takes about 10-20 minutes to complete. If you are planning to use serum or plasma, you will need a centrifuge. After you perform the test, the results are available at place in 10 min. HOW DOES A-PET-CARE ONE STEP FELV/FIV TEST KIT IN CATS WORK:
A-PET-CARE One Step FeLV/FIV 2-in-1 double-strip combo test for cats is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFIA). The test device has two testing windows, which have an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When the sample is applied into each of the S (sample) holes of the device, the liquid will laterally flow along the surface of the test strip. If there is enough FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) antibodies or FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) antigen in the sample, a visible T band will appear in the corresponding window. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. This means, the testing device accurately indicates the presence or absence of FIV antibodies and FeLV antigen in the sample.
Results are ready in 5-10 minutes.
