PARVO Virus Test Kit – Canine PARVOVIRUS Rapid At-Home Tests for Dogs (CPV Ag)

This test requires a dog’s feces or vomit sample.
You will need one swab of the sample.

Each kit contains:

• Test cassette
• Disposable dropper
• Buffer liquid tube
• Cotton swab stick
• Instruction leaflet

No additional equipment is needed—everything required is included in the test kit.
This is a COMPLETE test.

1. Read the instructions carefully before starting the test.
2. Collect a feces or vomit sample using the cotton swab. Refer to the instruction leaflet for proper sample collection. Once the sample is ready, the Parvo test takes 10–15 minutes to complete.
3. Mix the sample with the buffer liquid by inserting the swab into the buffer liquid tube and stirring thoroughly to ensure proper extraction.
4. Prepare the test: Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place it on a flat surface.
5. Add the sample to the cassette by using the dropper to transfer the treated sample mixture from the assay buffer tube. Place 3 drops into the S (sample) window of the test cassette.
6. Wait 5–10 minutes and read the results.

The test is valid for 16 months or longer from the date of purchase.

Parvo is a very common and highly contagious canine virus that primarily affects puppies, causing severe gastrointestinal illness. It is most common in pups between 6 and 20 weeks old but can infect dogs of any age.

How Parvo Spreads

Parvovirus is extremely resilient and can be found in almost any environment. It can survive for long periods in contaminated feces, surfaces, and objects, making transmission easy even without direct contact between dogs. A dog’s risk of infection depends on factors such as immune status and level of virus exposure.

Symptoms of Parvo in Dogs

Once infected, symptoms typically appear within 3–10 days. The virus attacks the intestines, leading to severe inflammation. Some of the most common signs include:

• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting
• Severe, often bloody, diarrhea
• Abdominal pain and bloating
• Fever or low body temperature

Prevention and Protection

Fortunately, Parvo can be prevented with vaccination, which is highly effective in protecting dogs. While this virus poses a significant threat to canines, humans cannot contract Parvo from dogs.
